Cafe Volunteer - Big Church Festival

As one of the Big Church Festival Cafe volunteers (aka BCF heroes) you’ll be super involved with making big church possible. You will be immersed in the day-to-day commitments behind the scenes, whilst also having time off to enjoy yourself and have heaps of festival fun. We would love you to join the cafe team.

We're looking for volunteers to join us on our next adventure at the 'Big Church Festival' in West Sussex (Wiston Estate) from Friday 26th May - Sunday 28th May.

You'd be helping us to deliver a great coffee experience whilst making great memories and doing something a little unique.

A volunteer role on our cafe team is up to 15 hours in 2-3 shifts over the weekend. Times are confirmed prior to the event. Volunteers must be over 18 years.

Barista skills are great but not necessary so please don't let this stop you from applying. There will be a lot of different hospitality roles to fill so there's sure to be one to fit your skill set. Enthusiasm is key and training will be provided!

Who we are looking for

  • Fun, enthusiastic and energetic person, with a keen interest in customer service and café life

  • Barista or cafe experience is desirable but not essential (we can teach you everything!)

  • Roles and duties will vary; running the tills, preparing drinks, brewing filters, blending frappes, re-stocking, queue management. (You can let us know if there is anything you are uncomfortable with).

  • A willingness to get stuck in and be a team player with the rest of the cafe team.

  • Able to work around 15 hours of cafe volunteering over 2-3 days of the festival. (Usual shift is 5-7hrs)

  • You need to attend an online training session prior to the event and attend a briefing before you start your shift on site. Your shift times will be sent prior to the event with arrival time.

At Big Church, you'll join over 30,000 festival-goers from across the UK & beyond who gather to worship together in the company of some of the world's best Christian artists. There's fun for all the family and you're guaranteed to meet with some of the happiest campers around! As a volunteer you'll have free access to all the fun, free food and more.

You will be camping at the event and must bring your own tent. You will also need to arrange travel to the venue (we can arrange to pick you up from the train station - just let us know on your application form).
