Honduras Cafescor
ROASTERS TASTING NOTES: chocolate | butterscotch | Hazelnut
Cafés Especiales Corquín (CAFESCOR) was born in 2012 as an initiative of small coffee producers in Corquín, Copán. In order to improve the quality of life of coffee families, they focus on sustainable production and the export of coffees.
Today, we have 440 partners, of which 84 are women and 353 are men, all committed to excellence and environmental preservation.
Since 2015 Cafecor has planted more than 200.000 trees and the vision is to reforest the farms and protect the water sources that supply local communities.
Cafecor supports high school students with internships offering them valuable work experience. They have also donated 1000 school kits to support local children with their education.
They offer a children's camp providing a safe and educational space for workers families during the coffee harvest season, and facilitate organic agricultural school to train young people in new agricultural practices whilst promoting environmental and economic sustainability. They also have a youth cupping school to motivate teenagers about the world of coffee and teach them new skills.
In partnership with others, Cafecor runs a female leadership program. This program is a key platform for woman's empowerment, promoting a more equal and inclusive coffee sector, whilst also generating a positive impact on the local communities.
